A new tour is born!

In 2014, the City of Oak Park repealed a 1945 law prohibiting the sale of beer and wine by the glass - and there was much rejoicing! Michigan Brew Tours shares the joy by hosting a brand new walking tour of three of Oak Park’s finest beer establishments: Oak Park Social, Dog and Pony Show Brewing, and Unexpected Craft Brewing Company.

The new tour, A Walk in the Park, starts with a handheld and a pint at Oak Park Social, the city's first gastropub. As their website explains, "we hope that the comfort of our design, coupled with quality food and spirits will keep you here for a while." Count me in!

Next stop on the tour is Unexpected Craft Brewing Co., where some brews might be familiar to beer lovers in Oakland County; Unexpected owner Ed Stencel was the founder and owner of River Rouge Brewing Co. in Royal Oak. Ed brings all his best beer to Oak Park, but in larger quantities and greater variety. Bonus for us all!

Finally, the tour finishes up at Dog and Pony Show Brewing with the hospitality of the Gierada brothers - Kyle, Aaron, and Josh. Brothers in life and partners in business, they bring to Oak Park their entrepreneurial spirit and some downright fantastic beer.

The maiden voyage of our A Walk in the Park tour is Sunday, April 10, and we expect this to be a bi-monthly excursion. So, get your tickets NOW and stayed tuned for further dates for this tour and a couple of other new tours, too!

Cheers! John
