All of our tours are led by Cicerone®-trained guides, experts in all things craft beer, spirits, cider, and mead. We attempt to pull back the curtain on the mystery of craft brewing, taking you behind the scenes of some of Southeast Michigan's best breweries, distilleries, and meaderies. From learning the basic terminology necessary to navigate the modern craft beverage menu, to sampling the raw ingredients that each brewer uses to ply their craft, our goal is to educate and entertain our guests, inspiring them to venture outside of their comfort zone when it comes to experiencing craft beverages.

What is a Cicerone®?

The word Cicerone (sis-uh-rohn) designates hospitality professionals with proven experience in selecting, acquiring, and serving today's wide range of beers. To claim the title of Cicerone, one must earn the trademarked title of Certified Cicerone® or hold higher certification as Advanced Cicerone™ or Master Cicerone®. Those with a basic level of expertise gain recognition by earning the first-level title Certified Beer Server.

What do your walking tours include?

What do your driving tours include?

Registration, pick-up, and drop-off at a specified location, and transportation to and from each tour stop
A Cicerone®-trained craft beverage expert as your tour guide who will direct the tastings and answer all your questions
Visit to up to 5 establishments per tour
Pizza lunch/dinner provided at first tour stop

Question 5

What's NOT included in your tours?

Purchase of any additional food, drinks, or merchandise at the tour stops are the responsibility of each guest.

What are your hours?

Accepted Answer

Tours are available any day of the week - if our tour destination is open, so are we! Contact us between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday to book your private tour, private tasting, beer service training session, or just to say "Hi!"

Question 7

How do you handle cancellations and refunds?

Accepted Answer

All cancellations must be made 7 days in advance of your scheduled tour. Please contact us at info@mibrewtours.com to cancel. If you notify us with at least one week advance notice, you will be given a full refund, or you can select an alternate date. No refunds or any rescheduling is allowed if reservations are cancelled within one week of the start of the tour.

Does the tour cost include gratuity for waitstaff?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Michigan Brew Tours tips a minimum of 18% of the bar bill before tax at each tour stop. However, if the service is exceptional, guests are encouraged to leave additional gratuity.

Question 9

How do I get to the tour starting location?

Accepted Answer

We recommend that you take a bus, a cab, a Lyft, an Uber, the QLine, bike, or walk to the registration location for each tour rather than drive. If drive you must, a designated driver is always the smart move. Please keep in mind that the beverages you will be sampling may be of a higher alcohol content than you're used to. You can always pass on a sample at any time if so inclined. Please drink responsibly and have a fun and safe tour!

How do I redeem a gift card?

Simply choose the tour you'd like to take and follow the instructions to order on Eventbrite. On the checkout page, click the "enter promo code" link (see pic below) and submit your gift card number.

The gift card amount will be deducted from the total. Each gift card code can only be used once. Any balance remaining after applying gift card must be paid when ordering tickets. For more info, contact us at info@mibrewtours.com.
